43 years ago today, more than ten years after first appearing on the country chart with "Dumb Blonde" (#24, 1966), Dolly crossed over to the pop chart with "Here You Come Again", a song she took all the way to #3. In 1981, she took "9 to 5" to #1 for one week, followed by two weeks at #1 in her duet with Kenny Rogers: "Islands In The Stream". She last made the AT40 pop chart in 2016 with 29 other country artists who called themselves Artists Of Then, Now & Forever to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Country Music Awards: they took "Forever Country" to #21 on the pop chart.
