STUDIO SESSION FOR JIM MORGAN FOR COUNTRY CIRCLE RECORDS 1965

SAM PHILLIPS RECORDING STUDIO
639 MADISON AVENUE, MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE
SESSION: APRIL 8, 1965
SESSION HOURS: UNKNOWN
PRODUCER AND RECORDING ENGINEER - STAN KESLER

Jim Morgan hailed from Little Rock, Arkansas and worked as a disc jockey at radio station KWAM in West Memphis as well as being a featured vocalist with Eddie Bond show in and around Memphis. His vocal styling coupled with the strong resonant timbre of his voice comes across as a mixture of Johnny Horton meeting Johnny Cash. This works especially well on his rockabilly cum hillbilly boogie flavoured tracks ''Ticket To Nowhere'' and What's Gonna Happen To Me''. Jim had a twin brother, also a disc jockey, with whom he worked and recorded under the name of the Morgan Twins. As such they had two releases on RCA and one on the local Peak label. Eventually the brothers left show business and returned to Little Rock.
