During the creation of Eugene Friesen’s album, New Friend, he and Paul Halley discovered a special affinity for improvising cello-piano duets, and have been sharing the joys and challenges of these adventures with concert audiences ever since. This is a spontaneous offering for Almería.

SPANISH ANGEL captures the Paul Winter Consort’s third tour of Spain, in 1992. Roused by fervent audiences, stimulated by the vibrant acoustics of classic old opera houses and concert halls, the Consort gave dynamic performances which, captured on state-of-the-art recording equipment, have resulted in a favorite and Grammy-winning album.
