Country/Soul singer and songwriter, Arthur Alexander, is remembered primarily for his original versions of songs like, Anna(Go To Him), and You Better Move On, covered by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, the Hollies, and others from the rock and roll world. Alexander, an Alabama native, signed with Nashville's Dot label in 1960 and by 1962, had already scored regional hits with You Better Move On and Anna(Go To Him), which peaked at #20 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 11/24/62. His solo career would peter out by the late 1960's but because so much of his songwriting work was getting covered by major rock artists, his income stream remained staedy!
