Backlash

Thomas Paine, that great American patriot whose book, "Common Sense", basically ignited the American Revolution, said the words, "My country is the world, and my religion is to do good", a primary tenet of the concept of Democracy that so many countries aspire and have aspired to. The good man would be pained today to see how things currently stand.

Tom Pained, Modern Alt-Rocker sometimes Hip-Hopper, seeks to revive the heart of Democracy and Thomas Paine's ideas through his music, and is also guided and inspired by these words of Pete Townshend: "Rock and Roll is always prepared to offer itself up as the tinder wood to the fire that will help burn away all the crap in this world." "Backlash" is Tom's second single release from his forthcoming "concept" album "States", which explores the multifarious states that we all go through, "From love to hate/and all in between/A gamut of emotions/Through body and soul/A raging stream". One of these states is politics and the desire to be free to be who we want to be. "Backlash" not only addresses the fight in America but other nations as well.
