Some country artists just know the secret formula to staying relevant and ahead of the curve.

These five artists’ careers have spanned decades because of their undeniable talent.

Garth Brooks
In 1989 Garth Brooks released his self-titled debut album and it peaked at number two on Billboard’s Hot Country charts.

Since then, with hits like “The Dance” and “Friends in Low Places” he has been a runaway success and a country music mainstay.

Shania Twain
All you have to say is, “let’s go girls” to get a crowd going. Shania Twain’s storied career began in 1993 and she has since released dozens of hit songs and scored a Vegas residency.

She has sold over 75 million albums and I have to say, after all this time, she’s still the one...Sorry, I couldn’t help it.

Reba McEntire
Reba McEntire is no stranger to the spotlight -- that’s because she’s been in it since 1977 when she released her first album.

Her career and talent has reached legendary status, not only as a singer but an actress as well.

Heck, she even had her own sitcom.

Dolly Parton
It’s been said time and time again that despite all our differences, every American can agree on one thing: we love Dolly Parton.

In 1967 she released her first album, Hello, I’m Dolly and started appearing on The Porter Wagoner Show.

She has written incredible hits like “I Will Always Love You” and “Jolene” but her infectious charm and quick wit are what keep her close to America’s heart.

Willie Nelson
There aren’t many artists who are as prolific as Willie Nelson. The man has had a lot to say since his debut album in 1962 and we have listened to every word.

Willie’s gritty voice and his unwillingness to conform have made him an icon.

Despite releasing countless albums we haven’t grown tired of him and we STILL cry listening to him sing “You Are Always On My Mind.”
