Today's guest Country Music Singer Celebrity Tori Martin on The Pam Goodwin Show. Tori sings my favorite song and tells how she wrote her latest song "What Would Dolly Do" written with total inspiration from Dolly Parton.
As a singer, Tori Martin is described as powerful, moving, exciting, emotional, with a voice that jumps out of the speakers. As a songwriter, she creates an experience that is genuine, and relatable. Her artistry captures what she is feeling, touching her listeners as she dazzles them with her infectious personality and impeccable stage presence.
Tori was born in sunny Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and grew up a military brat living in many different states before landing in Texas at age 7. She spent most of her life in Azle, just outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area before moving to Nashville in 2017 to follow her musical dreams. Her musical influences began early...in church...where she began trying on her vocal abilities as a child singing in her church choir.
By age 14 she was performing at opry houses all over Texas. Heavily influenced by her Country music-loving Paw-Paw, who bought the young songstress her first guitar, she cut her teeth on classics from Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man.”
In 2014, Renegade Radio Nashville named her one of the “New Faces of Country” and she was a contestant on Season 14 of ABC TV’s American Idol. In 2015, she was nominated for “New Female Vocalist of the Year” at the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards.
At 16, Tori recorded her first EP, Falling Straight Up in Nashville and headlined her first concert. Inspired by greats like Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, and Stevie Nicks, she quickly became known for her dynamic vocals, regularly collaborating with Nashville’s top award-winning songwriters.
In 2019, Martin released her single, "Living the Dream," a fun mid-tempo anthem. Fast forward to early 2020, and as flagship artist for LuckySky Music, she released the catchy, modern-traditional uptempo, “What Would Dolly Do?” This first single off her upcoming 8-song co-written CD “Lucky,” continues to climb the Texas Charts and has exceeded 50k streams.
The song was inspired by Tori’s visit to Dollywood. Touched by personal, handwritten notes from Dolly, Tori shares, "'What Would Dolly Do?' was written with total inspiration from Dolly Parton. She’s a woman who lives unapologetically and never gives up...one of my true heroes!
When she’s not performing or writing, Tori loves to travel and spends time with her husband Jason and their two golden retrievers, Duke and Daisy. She and Jason share a love for real estate investing which allows Tori to get into a rhythm of creatively designing and decorating homes. In 2021, she plans to get on the road and share new music from her album, Lucky.
