Her adoring public still hasn't gotten over her.

The inspiration behind "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and many more classics, legendary lyricist Cynthia Weil, passed away on Thursday night at the age of 82.

In a statement to TMZ, Dr. Jenn Mann, Weil's daughter, confirmed her father's death.

"My mother, Cynthia Weil, was the greatest mother, grandmother, and wife our family could ever ask for," she wrote. To quote her: "She was my best friend, confidant, and partner in crime and an idol and trailblazer for women in music."

The investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of death.

Weil, who was born in New York City in 1940, and her husband, lyricist Barry Mann, wrote a number of hit songs from the 1960s through the 1990s.

With almost 8 million "airplays" (plays on the radio) since its release in 1964, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers is one of the most performed songs of the 20th century.

The husband-and-wife composer pair had a legendary six-decade career, during which they wrote countless other classic songs.

The Crystals' "Uptown," the Righteous Brothers' "You're My Soul and Inspiration," and the Animals' "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" were just a few of the songs that were played.

The Grammy-winning singer and her late husband co-wrote "Here You Come Again" by Dolly Parton, a song that became a crossover hit for the country star.Other timeless songs include "Kicks" by Paul Revere & the Raiders, "Walking in the Rain" by the Ronettes, and "Through the Fire" by Chaka Khan. Most notably, Kanye West sampled the latter for his first ever solo single, "Through the Wire."

Meanwhile, it's been said that almost 200 million records of Weil's compositions have been sold.

Weil and Mann were more than just hit songwriters for A-list performers.

The duo composed "Somewhere Out There" for Steven Spielberg's "An American Tail," for which they were nominated for an Oscar and two Grammys.

In 2010, the songwriting duo became the first to earn both the Ahmet Ertegun Award from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Academy of Songwriters Life Achievement Award. Variety stated that Weil was the first woman to be given this award.

"From the bottom of my heart and with the greatest humility, I thought you guys would never ask," the ever-humble vocalist gushed after getting the honour.

Weil began writing in her senior years, her most famous work being the 1963-set mystery thriller "I'm Glad I Did," published in 2015.

When Cynthia Weil passed away, her family spoke about how devastated they were by the loss of her soaring talent: "Cynthia Weil's Grammy award-winning lyrics touched the hearts and souls of hundreds of millions of people around the world, making her one of the most iconic songwriters of the 20th Century."Barry Mann, her husband, chimed in, "I'm a lucky man. I married the woman who would become my soul mate and found in him a source of endless creative inspiration.

Weil is survived by her husband and Dr. Jenn Mann, a therapist, author, and host of the VH1 series "Couple's Therapy."
