Cisco Freeman covers Kris Kristofferson song "From The Bottle To The Bottom" (1971)

It seems Kris Kristofferson wrote this song at least a few years before he recorded it himself as it was recorded by Billy Walker and The Tennessee Walkers in 1968. It has been recorded by several other artst over the years with a new release by Dierks Bently in 2010.

I feel as though this is one of those songs that is relatable to most anyone and everyone then I remember that my life is not exactly like everyone elses.

Chords
Standard I - IV - V structure
In the Key of G
G - C - D

I'm using a bit of an improvised 3 finger traditional Travis Style Picking Pattern.

I've been a bit under the weather in the last week or so, having burst of energy then just feeling completely exhausted, so I missed out on guitar playing and recording time I had meant to use playing "Drinking Songs" to be released prior to New Years Eve, but obviously things don't always work out as planned. Better late than never, I'm now getting back around to playing the Drinking Songs I had planned on playing full of energy, my desire to knock back a few beers, have some fun, cut loose, has graciously returned.

Timing is always key especially when playing Seasonal Songs. No one wants to listen to Halloween songs after October 31st nore Xmas songs after December 25th however drinking songs are not exclusively reserved for New Years Eve. I'm actually running a bit of risk posting songs about drinking in the month just after the holiday that so many people give up drinking for a few months, win some loose some, but at the same time, so many of the drinking songs I'm going to record are not exactly all so pro-drinking/putting drinking in a postive light, not that I'm against drinking by any means. As for myself personally after not feeling like drinking much for the last week it feels great to actually want to sit down and have a few Beers.

I've never been one to Drink as an escape, try and drown my sorrows, as a matter of fact when I'm feeling down and out, depressed, I usually do not drink at all, I like to drink when I'm happy, when things are going well for me. So that being said, in the future, I plan to release several original songs that I have written that pertain to the subject matter of drinking in a postive way.

Oh, I almost forgot, I'm posting my 4th take, did one quick 1st take that was not bad but felt a bit unrehearsed, the next couple runs had silly mistakes, so by the 4th run I feel as if I was able to make perform the song in a bit of a humorus fashion.

In my opinion this is not a sad song but more of a satirical song where a man is trying to ease the blow to the woman he left, as if to try to make her feel a bit better that they are no longer together by suggesting now he has reached the bottom. Notice how he really makes no reference to actually wanting her back.

Oh life is so miserable with out you....but at the same time its so much better...I just cannot let you know that....so here is a song to make you feel better...oh no....we are never going to get back together...you can do much better than me....nice to see you...hear from you again..thanks for the memories... I hope we can still be friends.

Please Appreciate! Don't Hate!

Cheers,
