HELP JOHN AND RITA RECOVER THEIR LOSSES

Hello, My name is Tanis Thompson and I am a daughter of John and Rita Thompson.

Sadly on the early morning of February 11, 2021 my grandmothers trailer in Rainy River, ON ,which was left to my parents as apart of their inheritance in her passing caught fire and the entire building burned to the ground.

For the last 4 years since inheriting the trailer, my parents have been using it as an additional income which has also provided an inexpensive place to stay for those who were in need of a place to call home.  This extra financial income would assist my parents with living costs, but also assisted them with the ability to bless and help others who are in need.

For those of you who do not know my parents, they are the most kind and caring people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting.  Throughout my life, they have continually opened their home to people in need of shelter, fed many who's belly's were empty and in need of a meal, and would give financially to those who would fall on hard times, when not even been financially stable themselves.  They are humble people, who never ask for anything in return, and would never think of asking for help from others, due to not wanting to burden others with their own circumstances.   They have taught me the true values of what it is to love others, as Christ loves the Church, and both continually give all they have with a cheerful heart.

With a heavy heart, I recently found out that unfortunately the trailer that was lost to the fire was not insured, so my parents were forced to pay out of pocket for the clean up fees, and additional costs that have accrued since the fire. 

My parents have both worked very hard over the years to provide for our family and will be approaching retirement in the next couple years, but sadly do not have the privilege of having a pension, and in a few years time will be retiring with only their old age pension.   The extra income that they would have received from the rental income of the trailer was to financially assist them during their retirement.

I'm not sure how they are going to feel about me doing this, but they have always done so much for everyone else, and this is one way I can not only try and help them, but also honour them for all they have taught me in their goodness and continuous giving of themselves throughout all my life.  

Words cannot express what your kindness and support in giving of your finances will do for them during this time.   Especially after  experiencing such loss during this past year with the pandemic, with both only been able to work seasonally as they approach retirement,

Sometimes, I feel like just saying thank you is never enough, but please know in your heart that our prayers for blessings for your goodness and the kindness that you have extended to my family for you and your family will never cease.
