Here’s how vinyl record pressing works: Indie Music Minute

It’s 2020, vinyl is (still) hot, and in response to some of my videos about CD manufacturing several artists asked me how vinyl manufacturing works. So I recently took a drive 20 minutes up the road to our vinyl factory, and shot the above video.

As you’ll see, vinyl is a time-consuming, multi-step production process that today is virtually identical to when the process was invested some 70+ years ago. This is one reason why vinyl continues to be relatively pricey to produce (especially compared to CDs).
