HOME SCHOOLING AGAIN
Much of the Australian population is experiencing lockdown during the latest wave of COVID caused by the Delta variant. One element of the lockdown has been the suspension of school based learning and students having to continue learning at home, often supervised by parents in place of teachers.
The Spence Community Choir (based at St Paul's Anglican Church, Spence, in the Australian Capital Territory) were looking for a way to sing together and help themselves and others maintain some sanity in lockdown, some with younger family members. We wrote some new lyrics to the tune of the Willie Nelson song On The Road Again and also the Sam Cooke song Wonderful World, putting them together as a medley, and produced this virtual choir video assisted by a few musician friends from St Simon's Anglican Church, Kaleen and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Amaroo.
While the lyrics of the songs are light hearted, we are aware that staying at home for a long period of time is more difficult for some people depending on their home environment, We value the wonderful services provided by Lifeline and the Domestic Violence Crisis Service who have been helping these people tirelessly and wish to help raise funds for them.
