Isolation Video #132 July 26 20 Sunday Morning Coming Down By Kris Kristofferson recorded by Stephen Mendel on July 26, 2020
Kris Kristofferson wrote "Sunday Mornin' Coming Down" sometime in 1969. Ray Stevens recorded it first and then Johnny Cash had a big hit with it soon after. Kristofferson had been flying helicopters ferrying crews and supplies out to the oil rigs in the gulf one week and then making the rounds in Nashville the next. He played four songs for producer Fred Foster who wanted to sign him as both a songwriter and performer. There's a story that Kristofferson landed a helicopter in Johnny Cash's front yard to get a tape to him.
