Maiden Hair - Trewanmead (full album, 2021)

Regular followers of the channel will know we are big fans of Maiden Hair, and we are truly psyched to be opening this weeks’ Dungeon Synth Sunday with a stream of his debut full length album, a day ahead of its official release.

The unique musical combination of psychedelic kosmische ambient, dark dungeon synth, electronic folk drone are inflected with a deeply idiosyncratic Englishness, that channels influences of the formative sonic experimentation of Delia Derbyshire through to the recent hauntological atmospheres of Ghost Box – and beyond, into its own characterful entity.

Trewanmead expands on the story told through Ancient Borders – the radio-play released in April - which follows the mysterious tragedy in a village in England in the 70s, and the investigation into the occult activities surrounding it, by researcher and journalist Ryan Darlington.

The album is being released in a very limited edition tape, with pre-order available on Monday, August 2nd from MaidenHair. Vinyl from Death Kvlt Productions will be released a little later this year.
