The earliest winner of the Grand Master Fiddler Championship who is still living, Mark O’Connor (first won in 1975) and the newest Grand Master Fiddler Champion Ridge Roberts won again a couple of hours earlier in the evening (2024), meet up after the contest for a Texas fiddle jam in a parking lot at midnight in Nashville, TN. A 50-year span of “Grey Eagle” renditions. Players in the jam include contest coordinator Ed Carnes on the guitar, fiddle champions Monte Gaylord (also playing guitar), Jake Duncan, Marty Elmore and a lot more good folks.
