This episode dives into the melody of Charlie's 1971 hit, "Today I Started Loving You Again." The song was written by Merle Haggard and Bonnie Owens and originally recorded by Haggard and the Strangers for their 1968 album "The Legend of Bonnie and Clyde." However, Charlie's instrumental recording (initially released in 1968) would, after a couple of years and some record label runarounds, become the most successful version ever recorded. Something about Charlie's harmonica playing must have really brought this melody to life. Learn more about the history of the song, and of course how to play the song, in this video. Grab a 'B' Standard diatonic harmonica and let's play!
