The man rows back to shore
WIth a bucket full of fish
The sun is setting down
A gentle breeze keeps him warm

He puts a fire on the stove
Cooks slowly by the lake
Takes a sip of whiskey
It’s been a one fine day

As he goes inside the cabin
It is deadly quiet
The harsh reality hits him
He’s all alone by the woods

He starts to hear some sounds
That didn’t hear before
Now He sees some shadows
And puts light on to keep them low

In the quiet of the night
He’s a scared boy again
It’s more than just guilt
That keeps him awake

He knows there’s no reason
He’s a civilized man
At least he was
Before the shadows grew

When the shadows grow longer
When the sun settles down
The monsters come through
The cracks of the wall

He can feel he’s not alone
There are spirits on the run
They wish him nothing good
His only hope is staying down
