Sky News host Paul Murray says petrol is expected to rise as indexation kicks in, with the new tax hitting 49.6 cents per litre.

“Tomorrow, petrol is going to be more expensive, but it is already bloody expensive tonight,” Mr Murray said.

“The average price for petrol around the country right now, well, $2.19.

“You can add more than a cent to all of that tomorrow.

“This is way higher than when Anthony Albanese was whinging about $1.79 when he was the opposition leader.”
