From a world renowned music producer to a global YouTube sensation. Producer Michael has had quite a journey and he is one interesting cat.

In today’s episode we are gonna take a look at the life of Michael Blakey, known famously by his youtube channel as Producer Michael.

Michael was born in London, England on Dec 8, 1958. When he was younger, he dreamed of making it big and had a passion for music and an eye for talent. Michael worked as a dishwasher for the British Army to pay the bills while dreaming of making it big in the entertainment industry while studying music.


At the age of 19, he had his first big break. He became a resident producer at Hansa Ton Studios in Berlin. He began producing singles and LPs for various exciting musical singers and acts in Europe. Through the 1980’s and 1990’s, he gained extensive experience working as a composer, producer, and session recording drummer in both the U.K. and the U.S.


During the early nineties, Michael worked with New York based Atico Records as their head of A&R. He then founded three production companies between 1994 and 1998, one of which was Platinum Productions. He also co-founded 2KSounds in 1999 which was one of the very first companies to launch and promote music on the internet.


Michael has worked with a diverse variety of music icons like Brian McKnight, Coolio, Luther Vandross, Mary J. Blige, 2Pac, Nine Inch Nails, Willie Nelson, Engelbert Humperdinck and Glen Campbell amongst many others.


Did you know that he has produced music for Disney’s 2002 animated film, Cinderella II Dreams Come True?


Michael’s career evolved and he started experimenting with social media as his next adventure. He started to create videos highlighting his everyday life in Beverly Hills. Whether it was cruising in one of his luxury cars, touring a mega-mansion, or exploring his extensive watch collection - Michael quickly became a YouTube sensation - beloved for his style and larger-than-life personality. He also garnered a million followers on instagram for his uber rich aesthetic.


Michael’s first youtube upload was on 29th of august 2019. It was about a supercar cruise with his friends. Michael has gotten 1.4 million subs on YouTube and a quarter of a billion views combined till date.

Throughout his multi-disciplinary life, and globe-trotting career, Michael has developed a unique, iconic, and recognizable taste for all things fashion and luxury. In 2022, Michael launched the Producer Michael Boutique. Where he is a retailer of over 65 unique and exciting brands. Ranging from amazing watches, colorful clothing options to stylish footwear & eyewear.


Let’s talk about Michael's earnings. Michael supposedly makes 20 thousand dollars a month just from his youtube streams. Not to forget, the money he makes from brands that he promotes and features on his website and royalties that he earns from his music. His net worth is said to be over 60 million dollars.


Michael recently got some negative press on facebook when someone tried to sell fake watches under his identity. Quick action was taken by his team and the matter was put to rest almost immediately.


Michael is now 63 and continues to publish videos frequently on his youtube page. He now has about 300 hundred videos. He engages in audience participation by giving away a lot of free stuff from his website and the fans love him for it.
