River Run / Paul Winter Consort / Spanish Angel / Track 6

“River Run” is an evocation of the Consort’s journeys down the Colorado River during the making of their album about the Grand Canyon. The rhythm of the piece alludes to the motion of the rafts, and some of the feelings experienced going through the different kinds of waters and rapids that journey presents. The cascading song of the Canyon wren, often heard along the river, is included as an invocation and benediction.

Written by Glen Velez, Paul Halley, Oscar Castro-Neves, Paul Winter (Living Earth Music, BMI)
