Singer Dolly Parton receives $100m award from Amazon’s Jeff Bezos

The country music star and philanthropist receives the award honouring leaders who ‘pursue solutions with courage and civility’.

Country music star and philanthropist Dolly Parton has received a $100m prize from the “Bezos Courage & Civility Award”, given by the billionaire founder of Amazon.com, Jeff Bezos, an honour that recognises leaders who “pursue solutions with courage and civility”.

Bezos, who is also the owner of the space rocket company Blue Origin, announced the award last week along with his longtime partner, news anchor Lauren Sanchez.
