Moon Over Naples is a 1965 instrumental composed and originally performed by German bandleader Bert Kaempfert. In 1968, Moon Over Naples earned Kaempfert one of five BMI Awards that year.
Vocal versions of the song have been recorded as Spanish Eyes, the most notable of which was released by Al Martino in 1966. The earliest vocal version was recorded by Freddy Quinn in 1965 also titled as Spanish Eyes ; soon after its release, the single was pulled from the market when Polydor (Quinn's label) and Decca (Kaempfert's label) threatened to sue, claiming ownership of the song.
Among other versions : Sergio Franchi (1965), Andy Williams (1967), Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias (1988), Little Willie Littlefield (1990), Italian accordionist Beppe Junior (instrumental version, 2003), the vocal group Il Divo (2013). As Spanish Eyes, the song would go on to be performed by diverse artists, among them : Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Engelbert Humperdinck, Wayne Newton, Faith No More …
The song is arranged for the Music Atelier organ in latin style with different strings voices, super tenor sax, bones, trumpets, mute trumpet, marimba, mandolin, jazz vibes, guitar, piano, human voices and choir, jazz organ with Hammond drawbars sound, bass and percussion.
The Roland Music Atelier organ, compared to other high-end organs such as Yamaha (Electone, Tyros), Hammond, Lowrey, Wersi or Böhm is one of the best musical instruments ever produced thanks to the versatility and the richness of its voices, from the sound of classical pipe or theater organ of the silent-movie era to up-tempo jazz and rock organs, with harmonic drawbars.
