Here's how I play The Duke by Tommy Emmanuel. This is a beautiful, melodic fingerstyle tune played in drop D tuning that is very much based on using harmony to add feeling to the melody line. Tommy plays this song using a thumb pick, but I prefer to just use my fingers (and nails). Perhaps the hardest part of this song is the bridge where he uses a 'picado' flamenco guitar technique to accentuate the melody before returning to the verse. If you're having trouble getting this part down, I would suggest that you just take it very slow, fully learning each section before moving on, then when you have it memorised, repeat it many, many times nice and slowly! As always, have fun and best of luck with it :)
