If you like these things, we'll get along well - so take a listen and tell your friends. The debut album Murder Ballads & Other Love Songs was released in 2012 and was subsequently nominated for Country Recording of the Year at the 2013 East Coast Music Awards and Folk Artist of the Year at the 2013 NL Music Awards.In 2018, Blizzard Entertainment presented the song Pale Rider, from his debut album, in an animated short film for the award-winning video game Overwatch.

The second album With Darkness In My Eyes was released at the end of 2019. The album was recorded and produced by Laurence Currie and features performances by Christina Bougie (Bahamas, Sarah Slean), Robbie Crowell (Midland, Kesha), Mark McIntyre (Terri Clark, Dean Brody), Brad Kilpatrick (Hawksley Workman) and other Canadian artists such as and a guest appearance by "#1 Harmonica Player" Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard). Steeped in tradition and raised on a healthy "old country" diet, Heavy Horses are naturally drawn to writing in the same style of music and make no excuses for it. Although they have never raised a gun on a man, fled to Mexico, killed out of love, anger, or killed "just to watch him die" as Johnny Cash once put it, these topics abound in writing.
