My rendition of this song that was originally recorded by Kris Kristofferson in April 1971 at Monument Studios in Nashville, TN, produced by Fred Foster. It was never released as a single, but was track 1 on side 1 of Kristofferson's second studio album, also titled The Silver Tongued Devil And I. The album was released in July 1971 on Monument Records and it reached number 21 on Billboard's Top LPs & Tapes chart and number 4 on the Hot Country LPs chart. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 units. Written by Kris Kristofferson.
