Question is, why is it that Republicans, uh, seem to bend over backwards to defend Donald Trump when he's on record calling Republicans idiots, and that if he ran for president, he'd run as a Republican? Um, think that's a fun question because the reason these Republicans keep defending him is because they're terrified of him. But the terror makes no sense, right? Like there's no rhyme or reason to it. Technically, right now, for any Republican to be out there defending Donald Trump is the dumbest thing a Republican could do. Yes, he is currently the Republican front runner, however, he doesn't have any power at the moment, so there's literally nothing he can do. Uh, you know, to them he's not even on Twitter, he's on truth social where nobody sees what he posts unless it's something outrageous, then it gets run in the news. Beyond that, he's barking in the dark.

So what can he actually do to these people? Like, why are you still defending him? It's because they're afraid that one day he may have power again, and when he does have the power, oh boy, he's gonna, he's gonna what? See, that's the part that republicans haven't thought through, like, oh, well, when he gets power, you know, then he could really, uh, uh, and then they just trail off. Like, no, he can't do anything to you. He can come out and call you names. I mean, he can hurt your feelings. He could be rude to you. He may endorse your primary opponent, but as we've seen, Donald Trump's endorsement actually makes it more likely that the person endorsed will lose the election, even if they're poll ahead prior to the endorsement. So I don't think that's a viable excuse for these people. Like, well, I don't wanna him off because, you know, then he may run somebody against me.

Good statistics also show that if Donald Trump endorses your opponent and increases your fundraising, the man is politically toxic. The fact that he is even polling at the top of the Republican primary by, by double digits, by huge margins is insane to me. But you move out of the Republican primary and you look at all American voters, Trump has no chance. Like being indicted is, is certainly great for Trump's fundraising. It's great for his rally numbers, but it's not attracting new people to him. And that's something that I think republicans, to a degree, uh, at, at least the elected officials, they're starting to realize that, and they're starting to understand that, wait a minute, this guy is politically toxic. I can't keep doing this. But beyond that, they will continue to defend him because they have this weird fear that somehow, some way Trump is gonna do something to them that could actually affect their lives. The only thing we have seen Donald Trump do to impact people's lives is get them to commit crimes, and then they later end up on trial, having to hire lawyers themselves. Even Trump's lawyers. You get in bed with the guy, you defend the guy, you don't ever get the happy ending, okay? There's no happily ever after for the people who go all in with Donald Trump. And I kind of love the fact that the Republican Party still doesn't seem to grasp that concept.
