Hey, guys! Just as you finished binging on the dramatic fourth season, we have GREAT news for you: Season 5 of Virgin River has been officially confirmed by Netflix! Moreover, the production of Season 5 began on July 18, two days before the Season 4 premiere. The official Virgin River Instagram account posted a screenshot of the Zoom call with the cast and crew doing a table read for Season 5. Filming is set to begin any day now in Vancouver, Canada, and will run through November. A 12-episode Season 5 is set to be released next summer, in 2023. The biggest change so far is a new showrunner for Season 5: Patrick Sean Smith will be replacing Sue Tenney. A writer and producer, he’s previously worked on the shows Dolly Parton's Heartstrings and Chasing Life. The Season 4 finale dropped many bombshells that definitely promise a very exciting fifth season. With Jack and Mel FINALLY engaged, they will probably be getting ready for their wedding. We learned that Jack is not the father of Char’s twins, but he is the father of Mel’s baby. While Dan finally became a free man thanks to Brie, it looks like she will now face a tough challenge of prosecuting her rapist. A big shocker came from Denny who opened up to Lizzie about his terminal illness. By the way, we also have a very interesting video about the Virgin River cast REAL-life partners and personal lives: we’ll link it here and in the comments below.
