We Are Sailing

This is a song my (deceased) ex-wife Sonja Yancey and I wrote before our son Jett was born.
Sonja and I wrote our own spiritual song together. We went to her producer Fred Foster's office and she sang it to Fred with just the guitar and he recorded and published it. Fred is a hall of fame producer who produced over 20 Roy Orbison's hits like Pretty Woman, Percy Sledge hits i.e. "When A Man Loves A Woman", Kris Kristofferson "Me and Bobby McGee" and many more. We thought it could be a We are the World kind of thing. But he didn’t think it was commercial enough. We still got $1000 just for writing it. It was the best publishing deal in Nashville history.
