When the Education CS Fred Matiang’i surprised the country by announcing the 2016 KCPE results earlier than usual, Caroline Gatwiri Gitonga of Fred’s Academy in Meru county, was not only caught by surprise but also elated when she learnt that she emerged the best girl in the country and was the 3rd overall candidate in the country. Having scored 434 marks ,Caroline is now preparing to join Alliance Girls High School after which she aspires to become a neurosurgeon after completing her higher education. Caroline’s story is the subject of this week’s Women and Power.
