ICF Bengaluru Charter Chapter is delighter to present to you a session titled “Working Relationally in the Here-and-Now in Coaching” by Aruna Gopakumar on the 30th of September at 6:30 pm IST.
The here-and-now refers to the immediate events of the coaching hour, what is happening in the coaching room, in the relationship, in the in-betweenness – the space between the coach and the client, in this immediate moment.
Here are examples of what you may observe in the here-and-now-
** The client may go on talking and you feel like you have no space to enter their world
** The client may get angry with you for a statement that you made (the reverse too)
** You may find yourself working harder than the client to bring about change
** You may identify so much with your client that you feel ill-equipped to help them
In this session, we look at the significance of these unspoken experiences. What could they reveal to us? How do we use these experience meaningfully to understand the clients' internal world and how our internal worlds interact with that? How could you bring it up in the work in a way that is helpful to the client?
Aruna Gopakumar, explains these ideas in a simple, engaging manner, using stories from her book 'And How Do You Feel About That' as case studies. Do attend the session, if you want to understand how to use your relationship with the client as a very significant development tool that you have access to.
