Missouri-born Winford Lindsey Stewart was born on June 7th, 1934, and recorded and released records regularly up until his death of a heart attack in 1985. He had moved west to California and become a progenitor of the "Bakersfield Sound", and influenced artists such as Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.
