The most peacedul countries in the world is being determined the Global Peace Index. The Global Peace Index is a report produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace, and developed in consultation with an international panel of peace experts from peace institutes. The Global Peace Index ranks 172 independent states and territories (99.7 per cent of the world's population) according to their levels of peacefulness. In the past decade, the GPI has presented trends of increased global violence and less peacefulness. It also increases the world peace program in the world. According to the 2019 Global peace index, Iceland is the most peaceful country in the world while Mauritius is the most peaceful country in Africa. The report also shows Afghanistan as the least peaceful country in the world.

The most peaceful countries are determined by factors such as Number and duration of internal conflict, Number of deaths caused by political instability, level of perceived criminality in societies, impact of terrorism and relations with neighboring countries. According to the report, the higher the score, the higher the level of insecurity in the country. So according to the 2019 Global Peace Report, here are the Top 10 least peaceful countries in Africa.
10. Chad, GPI Score – 2.522
Chad is a country located in Central Africa with a population of about 13.6 million people and a surface area of about 1.28 million km2. For a long time not only has Chad suffer from terrorist attacks, poverty is also a major problem plaguing the country. According to the United Nations, Chad has been affected by a humanitarian crisis since at least 2001. As of 2008, the country of Chad hosts over 280,000 refugees from the Sudan's Darfur region, over 55,000 from the Central African Republic, as well as over 170,000 internally displaced persons. In February 2008 in the aftermath of the battle of N'Djamena, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs John Holmes expressed "extreme concern" that the crisis would have a negative effect on the ability of humanitarians to deliver life-saving assistance to half a million beneficiaries, most of whom – according to him – heavily rely on humanitarian aid for their survival. Chad is currently the 10 least peaceful country in Africa.
9. Cameroon, GPI Score – 2538
For a long time Cameroon was always considered as one of the most Peaceful countries in Africa until it plunge into a civil was in 2016. With a population of about 25 million people, Cameroon is currently a Danger zone, especially in the English speaking regions of the country. There are currently strong movement in the country as the English speaking region wishes to separate from the French region. The movement is so strong that is causing a lot of fear and insecurity in those regions. Bribery and corruption is also on a rise in Cameroon despite government efforts to curb such practices. All these demonstrations and insecurity has made Cameroon dangerous country for its citizens and tourists.
8. Mali, GPI Score – 2710.
The west Sahelian state of Mali is facing increased security threats and a protracted political crisis that risks unmaking a peace process whose implementation is lagging.
